LOVE LOCAL – Introducing, Diane Myers, Chartered Accountant

21 March 2023

As autumn descended on the Te Wairoa valley, the shortening days may have been a cause of panic for those racing to the End of Financial Year tax deadlines.

“It’s certainly a busy time of year,” laughs Diane, “but we enjoy working with our clients to make sure it’s not an overly stressful time of year”.

Diane works acts for a wide range of private and small business clients from Clevedon Valley and beyond, and loves the variety of the work across a range of industries her clients represent. With her team of Sandra Rees and Susanne Gower, she aims to provide a personal service tailored to her client’s business needs.

“It might surprise you to know that it’s not all about the numbers!  Yes, we do need to be good with numbers, but it’s more about the people and their individual situation.  We like to take a holistic approach to help our clients to best structure their finances.”

Diane has had her own practice in Clevedon for 27 years, with Sandra also clocking up the last 14 of those. They have built long-standing relationships with many clients who they also valu as friends.  They’ve recently moved into the new Clevedon Business Hub, beside The Clevedon Woolshed.

“We love being in the centre of our busting community,” says Diane of her recent move. “It is the sense of belonging to a rural community that is supportive of residents and businesses alike. I love that when you walk like when you walk through the village and people wave out to say ‘hi’.  So many people have been super supportive in taking an interest in our recent move of offices.”

Diane started her business back in 1995, after moving north from Christchurch, and with  young children she became involved in the community via the Clevedon kindergarten, then Clevedon School. When she’s not in her new office, you’ll find Diane in the outdoors – tramping, mountain-biking, kayaking.

“The bush is my happy place”, she says. Thankfully for Diane, the Clevedon Valley is surrounded by it.

Asked to describe Clevedon in 3 words, Diane says “COMMUNITY, BELONGING, RURAL-life”.
